In May of 2007 in my first post I asked for help in selecting a first fine timepiece. You told me then how Mrs. MTF felt about the Piaget ultra thin - I just assumed she already had it in her possession. As they say in my culture, wear it in good health!!...

samwan, Thanks for your good wishes. It is not a straight fight between a VC Patrimony Contemporaine and this Altiplano because the VC is bigger in all dimensions, having an automatic movement as well. The Altiplano case is only 38mm x 6.01mm at worst (ed... 

automatic calibre for the new Altiplano is the thinnest automatic movement available with 5.25mm. The total diameter of the watch is 43mm and the case back have a sapphire to see through. Hope to see it in the metal. Cheers, patrickh

It is a beautiful watch and I have never seen hands shaped like those. They really make the watch stand out. Thank you for the review and history lesson. It goes to show what little unknown gems are out there in the marketplace if you know what to look fo...
