LOL mon ami. No need to tell you how I feel about this since I owned all 3 dial colors but now only have the blue and white. Before this SkyD I never owned a Rolex with a fluted bezel and like you I did not like it either...
But once I tried on the SkyD and played with the ingenious bezel and how it functioned, I was sold.
I will repeat what I have said prior, although I am a huge chronograph fan and the majority of my most beloved watches are chronographs, I feel the SkyD is the best modern Rolex made. To think that it contains the most complicated movement ever made by Rolex themselves ks saying something.
I am not a fan of the flashy nature of the bezel and polished center links but I have gotten over that due to the excellence of the watch overall. You might not feel the same way but I would highly recommend the SkyD to anyone. It would make a great ONLY watch from the crown although there might be others which could also be chosen. I just feel the SkyD offers more than any other modern Rolex in terms of functionality 😉👍

I, too, have a love hate relationship with the fluted bezel.
Functions aside, i sometimes love the way it catches the light. Sometimes I feel it screams too much when I’m around town.

In general I think Rolex hands are not has visible as they should be due to how they polish them compared to other brands. Except for the more sporty hands like in the submariners and the like, I find most of the "straight" hands from Rolex do not provide...

Whaouah, you had a chance at the WG blue SkyD Roger. That is a bit of a unicorn from Rolex as they only made VERY few. It is actually the one I want and I would happily trade my blue and white dials in SS for the WG blue dial, even if I had to add cash 💸

Yeah. I was even told at the time that it was a unicorn.
But buying just to hold on and sell later isn’t my thing. I sold my blue dial patek 5980 because it just didn’t wear right on me. I made money, but that’s not my general pursuit.
Similar to others, this timepiece creates polar opposites... fun dialogue.
