Rolex

With my 40th approaching fast, I was determined to find something to celebrate. With nothing modern really catching my eye, I looked for something vintage, main criteria was to find something from 1972. Then a stroke of luck (or maybe by luck it found me)...  

A Vintage GMT from your birth year! That would be something I'd lve to find, but I am still in the hunt. ;) Your pepsi bezel is very nice, though. You should not reject it, as it is part of the DNA of these watches! But I have to admit that the black inse... 

..it will stay in the box, and perhaps for the GMT gatherings, it will pop back in. But for everyday, for the moment that is, the black is my preferred look. I guess perhaps, that having the option to swap, just like the beauty of NATO straps, is that you...

upcoming big 40! The black insert and nato does give the GMT a very different and nice look t it. I am also on the lookout for a 1675 but am just tryng to reconcile myself with the fact that in looking for a sports watch, I am very likely not going to be ... 

And found one with recent service papers, and as it was 1970, last serviced by Rolex in 2010, the seller had it tested for me. BUT, having said, although I can be comfortable around water, I won't dive with it I think - it's not so much the risk of it flo... 

... I like the pepsi bezel on my GMT´s as I feel these represent the traditional look of this model, but I must recognize that the black bezel gives a most distinctive and elegant look to the GMT. I remember that last year, during a visit to Firenze, Ital... 

....is the turn-o-graph an option? When did they appear? You've spoken of this fantastic Italian GMT wearing lady before, we can only imagine her! We should start a photo post on this theme!! Cheers Tony

... to say that I have no chance of getting a Rolex "Tool watch" from my birth year, as the first one was the Turn O Graph, as you well say, but the first one, reference 6202, was born in 1953/54. An early reference 4467 Date Just from 1948 is an interest... 

That is a really stylish way to celebrate - and what's making it even more so is that you did go the extra mile to fit it to your requirements! I am definitely not the ultimate Rolex fan but timepieces much like yoursmake me like the brand a lot nonethele... 

great looking watch! Congrats on your upcoming 40th with this 1675! I think you should be allowed to wear the watch for an extra few weeks before your birthday!!

I liked it with the pepsi, but the black bezel is equally as lovely. :) September is not all that far away now............Unless of course your birthday happens to fall on the 30th! Regards Tony
