I appreciate your perspective and love for the 116500 - Rolex in general and the Cosmograph Daytona in particular are iconic elements of the industry. I love that this site is filled with passionate collectors who can appreciate the tastes of others - recognizing that this is such a subjective area! The Rolex reliability is legendary. My wife’s cousin (not a watch guy) recently brought out his 16520 which he hadn’t worn in over 10 years. He bought it new in 1993 - still has the case back sticker on it 🤣. He took it to the local AD to organize a service but because it has the calibre 4030 el Primero based movement it would have had to go away for service. After popping it onto the Witschi Timegraoher they said don’t bother (he doesn’t expose it to water) - it was still well within COSC Chronometer tolerances after 30+ years! That’s what I call industrial strength.
Sharing my experience with customizing my watch
