I’m also switching between Maui Jim’s.
I used to be a fan of Persol but I now prefer the lenses of the Maui Jim’s (especially their bronze lenses). I’ve been using a black plastic pair for hiking and daily wear, and titanium framed, small aviators when something more formal is required.
I’ve been using the black plastic pair with a neck cord, which I know is not stylish but it is eminently practical when hiking and walking in and out of forested areas or going in and out of shops.

Like you Jon, I used to be a Persol guy. But the quality isn’t what it used to be.
Maui Jims are good. Serengeti should also be good, and I’ve seen Ray Ban making Polarized glasses (again). Enjoy!

Sure does. Unfortunately they don’t fit me very well.
As with watches, so in sunglasses we have to try them on to see if they “sing to us”. Therefore I never bought shades online without trying them on first.

I agree about the original glasses in Mauis are excellent. These ones are the best I ever had. I can look out at the ocean / water all day and not get tired in my eyes. But they are costly compared to the newer Mauis with plastic. ...

Like many companies they try to cut costs in the production I guess.
