... "I appreciate your concern"...
Not concern, Bim: admiration!
The beautiful, long, clear, open roads down here beg - just beg! - to be travelled at max revs through each gear. There is only one problem, and it is not the gendarmes. You see, hitting a kangaroo at speed in anything other than a Mack truck fitted with a bull bar is definitely not good for the kangaroo, but it's not much good for the car and driver either. So, as soon as the car gathers any speed at all it is impossible to look down at the speedo for even a split second, for fear that in that split second a 150Kg marsupial will decide to come windscreen-surfing into the passenger seat, after which your next trip will be in an ambulance or a hearse. So, you know when you have hit the rev-limiter; you know what gear you're in; you're just too afraid to look down to see how fast you're going!
Cheers,
pplater.
