Thanks, Marcus

The watch I wore into the store was a Zenith Captain Chronograph, which is both less fancy and dressier. That’s the key to the versatility—it is fancy without being too dressy.

I have as a long-term curatorial goal to own every variant of the Lemania 1350, of which the Ebel 137 is one. I have a long way to go. The Ebel BTR GMT used a GMT version, and there is the perpetual-calendar Ebel 288. I have the 139 with central minutes.

But even harder, because of prices, is a Type XX, which has a flyback modification, and the UN 150-something. The UN is the fanciest modification, with a column wheel and a full balance bridge. It uses the same base plate as their perpetual calendar watch, as I somewhat dimly recall, which they bought from Lemania back in the 90’s. Buying the Ebel movement gave them the rights to that as well, after Lemania had become Manufacture Breguet under Swatch.

My plan includes lottery winnings. smile
