Have yet to handle any 56 but this one is quite appealing from the stock pic...

I just noticed a photo on VC's website under The FiftySix Story; a ref 6073 with sub-seconds automatic . Although one may assume the piece was a 1956 model, I believe the cal 498 sub-seconds auto was discontinued with the introduction of the 1019 center-s...  

Why in the world can't they re-issue modern watches to look more like that and other beauties within the 50's decade??? Tony

Unlike the base model, but like all the others, this has the geneva seal, so hand finished after the machine work, not highest end, but nice.

I didn't put it under the microscope; but it looked well finished, but of course, there is room for improvement! A fatter bullnose for the anglage is always more seductive, and movement plates with more concave curvature is always nice!

On another site. I have to say, it's pretty nice looking. It's the sharpest 56 model released so far. Tony
