Inspired by Steiner1975‘s pic of his beautiful silver dialed Dual Time, I feel I need to post about a watch that is still haunting me. It made quite some noise (at least for VC standards) when it floated around the net about a year ago, so you probably ha...
The WT overseas is new to me. The layout is my cup of tea. You told about the size, it is a big timer. Do you know in your head about the size? I go to 42mm max 38mm min. case thickness not above 20mm. greatz, Weems.
It is the maximum of what i wear. Actually 42mm - 41mm is perfect for my wrist. Many things depends also i know like lug design, case shape, strap/bracelet system, back case form, if you can go bigger or smaller.
The other feature that I love is the tantalum ring below the bezel. The darker color of the tantalum against the titanium is way cool. I wonder why VC hasn't commercialized this model with at least a LE run. M4
can you imagine going to all the trouble of making that watch--the perfect outdoorsy version of the Overseas that so many of us want--and then choosing not to sell it??
but I‘d be surprised if, after all the applause, none of the Cory Richards version will see the light of day. I think even VC marketing can‘t ignore the noise 😁
It is also my favorite Overseas. The strap, the two crown/buttons at the left, the dial. If a 222 is an Overseas, that watch i must have. Not an Overseas, this one i want Twin Beat Perpetual Calendar 2,4hz 5hz, 50 days plus pr. And i want a Quai De L’ille...
This is another shopping list: Breguet Marine. Blue or Silver inner dial. Girard Perregaux WW TC. cream dial. Rolex Submariner. The hulk 116610LV. Ulysse Nardin. Classic Dual time. Arnold and Son. Nebula 41,5mm case. Omega Globemaster Annual Calendar. Gir...
Love the use of tantalum, the combination of dark blue/grey and orange, the fabric strap option. It would be a compelling version of the OS if they produced more. Wish they removed the date wheel, but I'm sure they won't
In general, the Overseas design seems over-styled to me...just too much Maltese Cross motif throughout, with my main complaint being the bezel; but this special edition of one really seems to work well. I would, however, change the GMT hand so it could di...
this is the coolest OS. When I first saw it I wanted it so bad until I realized that this was near impossible to obtain. Maybe one day VC will do some kind of re-issue.
or at least do something very similar. And thanks for posting your very nice WT a couple days ago. This reminded me of the Cory Richards version in the first place (actually it brought back the pain of not having one 😄)
have saved a decent number of pictures of it on my phone and computer. Have been very much hoping it will be transformed into a regular release. Cheers Marc
I put some funds aside to pay for my RO 15500, hoping for it to arrive in 12 to 24 months according to the AP boutique. The RO is a personal grail but if this VC arrives before... I swear VC will get my money and AP will keep their 15500
on making this version more sporty. Great match to the dial, and must be pretty cool in the dark! Agree on the Ti bracelet, too Thanks for commenting, Fastwong.
There are a ton of options and very versatile.. In my opinion would rather have over any AP or PP sports watch.. I cannot wait to add one to my collection but will be a few years!! I am making a trip to the Miami Boutique hopefully in April! -D-
and I wear my simple three hander very frequently. It’s extremely versatile. What I like about the Cory Richards version is that it takes the sporty-elegant axis of the Overseas to rugged-sporty-elegant. To me it looks like Mick Jagger in a tux!
