The third generation had to grow on me as I didn’t like it the first time.
I find the Royal Oak 15202 slightly more appealing. However I‘m someone who stays away from hype and lot liked designs, thus I can focus more on actual watchmaking, which is where the Overseas excels at in comparison to it‘s contenders.
To answer you question: no, they will not! There is no honeymoon story behind that model line which can be used to fool some snobs. 
Also they did a mistake by releasing the Ultra-Thin (Ref. 2000V) in white gold only. That model in steel with a blue or brown dial.... jesus christ!
Will these be the new hot steel pieces

I think the gen 3 is fantastic
The chronograph in particular. Beautifully finished and very comfortable on the wrist. Given the in-house movement I think I'd choose it over the ROC.

VC is simply the best
I love their bracelets. Best design in the industry in my opinion. The royal oak although nice pulls hair and is sharp on the inside. At least for me.
