There are so many different variations on the 2310 and I have always wondered which of these has the finest finishing. After looking at images online it seems to me it’s either the 1142 or Patek’s 27-70. ...
Both are great, no doubt about it.
The Maltese cross column wheel makes a difference for me: I like it better than the capped one of the 27-70. Also, I find the shape of the Y chrono bridge and of the cock for the escapement more refined in the 1142. Best, Emmanuel
The 1142 has been completely built and conceived inhouse based on the Lemania caliber that VC purchased initially. I dare think that the inner angles on the VC are more regular and precise
as the caliber has newly been reengineered and manufactured compared to the Patek 27-70 caliber which was also a reengineered Lemania version but an older one. By looking at multiple pictures of the 27-70 in 5070 and 5970 models, I always have the impress...
This is something I have noticed as well. There are movement shots where the internal angles are a little dull, and others where they seem to be much sharper.
It seems to be quite random as well - to the point you would think this would be a point of discussion in collector circles - and the better finished watches fetching higher prices.

Here is a Breguet ref. 3237, cal 533 which is derived from the 2310 and looks more like the 1142 than the 27-70 source Monochrome ...
its now the free sprung version(with its advantages) as against the 1141 and don't forget the quality under the dial

Yes, absolutely, 3Hz instead of 2.5Hz (the Patek 27-70 remained at 2.5 Hz).
And the quality under the dial is well shown in the video: thank you! I think the movement needs 45 turns to be fully wound. And each morning I give it around 10 turns. Best, Emmanuel

why only 10 turn each morning as its such a great watch to hand wind
by next morning the watch will be stopped. manual and automatic watches(automatic winder) need to be fully wound each(by) morning i have to wind 40+ turns to fully wind.
