. . . it was a toss-up between this very quartz model and the AirKing I eventually acquired as my first 'good' watch. The integrated bracelet design was, and still is, attractive to my eyes. As much as I preferred the Oyster Quartz on aesthetic grounds, though, there was little doubt that the decision would be in favor of a mechanical movement.

with quartz watches is that you need to change the battery once in a while. As can be seen with my Suunto M3 for bicycle rides that is quite a challenge... I do have one other "proper" quartz watch stacked away currently. It will go to my daughter very so...
