with quartz watches is that you need to change the battery once in a while. As can be seen with my Suunto M3 for bicycle rides that is quite a challenge... I do have one other "proper" quartz watch stacked away currently. It will go to my daughter very so...  

Yes, quartz watches are more practical...my wife won't wear mechanical and seriously I don't trust my young kids with mechanical watches quite yet. That is a beautiful gift you have hidden for your daughter, she will love it. I've got the same idea in min...

nearly to a day with my first earned money :) surprisingly enough (for me) my budget money for watches hasn't changed much :) :) :) It has been on wrist everyday through teen years if watches could told stories this one would be highly appraised piece :) ...

funnily enough MrSnak has the same model citizen. the sound is pretty good and its a decent well made watch for the price, especially if you buy it discontinued when its even cheaper :) the accutron is not technically quartz, but one of the best battery o...

I believe the Shellman Minute repeater uses the "same" Citizen minute repeater technology...mine powered by battery, yours by sunlight HAGWE Graham, Mike

i also think that the Camponala uses the same movement but with refined sound for the repeater. i first discovered this watch in 2008 when my mate was interested in it. as he was fitting my kitchen at the time i bought it for him in  lieu of payment and w... 

I'm out at my uncle's place checking out the spring crops I love this Omega on its chain mail bracelet. It's even kept time to the exact second for the last year (because it's no longer running :-( ) Mike Art ...

not intended to offend anyone In general, women prefer dependable and easily maintained things...like us simple minded men. and in general men like complicated and sometimes finicky things (look at our facination with watches, cars, gadgets)...like the wo...

A vintage piece from the late 1970's I believe. Found it in a bag in a consignment shop with some other interesting pieces...once I seriously cleaned it all up, opened here up, dropped a new battery in, she came to life, and has kept superb time ever sinc...

Hi Mike, I was in the consignment store with my wife looking at furniture, when I wandered over to the jewelry counter on the off chance they had anything of merit. Typically, it was full of costume jewelry and v. inexpensive used modern quartz watches......
