no, sorry its a secret :)

i'm trying to put a post together about why we
always gravitate back to vintage watches which will include this so please be
patient as i'm waiting for my Gruen Airflight to arrive.

the quick story is that i've wanted one of these
since i first started the 'unusual' watch collection, but they were all very
expensive and in gold plate with gp bracelets, mostly tatty. last year i met a
guy from Polant via the web, i cant remember exactly how, but he runs a website
for vintage and unusual watches. i mentioned that i was after one, but in the
chrome case and forgot about it. he emailed me in november with pics of this and
a price which was barely believable in a good way. i'd just bought the MIH and 2
speedies so said that if he still had it in january i'd buy it. i then contacted
him and asked if he would hold it for me which he did. it was only posted from
Polan on tuesday and arrived at my door yesterday morning. the strap was non OEM
and cheapie so i put the brown Hirsch on it and a steel deployment
clasp.

if i'm correct about it being the first 2x retro
then its a pretty groundbreaking watch which received very little recognition
when it was new and even less now. did GG work for Longines Wittnauer in the
60's and 70's or would he have never designed his retrogrades without this being
made first?

who knows, perhaps one of the team could ask
him.

thats the short story so war and peace to
follow.

best

Graham
