I too never saw VH in concert, but the closest I come is a dear friend, Jimmy Hamm opened for them with his band back in the early 80’s in Hollywood!
Said Eddie would play with his back to the audience, so as to not reveal how he did his wizardry in the early days. I guess he was perfecting his mastery!

The greatest classical player of all time in my opinion. He is my main role model and source of inspiration for my playing. There are faster and louder players (both of which are technically demanding in classical) but he has the phrasing and articulation...
