So glad to have it back...
After 6 (yes, six) months of full service at Breguet. The service bill is also shocking 
but at least i have peace of mind knowing that every parts which have worn out have been replaced. So it came back like new.

Now that i have rectangular (Reverso) and this tonneau Breguet, i want a square watch. And no one does it better than Cartier IMO. The question is, Santos Dumont or Francaise? I exclude Santos de Cartier because i don't like the "flowing " bezel and the dial looks flat, although the bracelet is amazing. Which one you prefer? (Images from internet)

One in steel, one in gold.
I think they look and wear pretty dated on their bracelets. Maybe with a more modern strap pairing?

The dumont is just a very boring santos to me...never clicked with it.
The only thing that's stopped me from a Santos is that they scratch up easily.
Yes, the shiny bezel on santos is prone to scratch, more so than Dumont because of more horizontal surface.
That Breguet looks awesome—especially on that strap. I have both a Tank Francaise and a Santos Dumont — they each have a niche and I find great pleasure in both on the wrist.
Thanks. One thing stopped me from the Francaise is the bracelet which does not taper and the integration to the case is not as good looking as the old model.
The layout is just perfect. And I also think the breguet hands look perfect here.
I always admired this brand and am happy it’s getting hot again.

As for the Cartier, the Santos Dumont on strap for me, all day long.
Thanks for the opinion. One thing , mechanical movement only available in XL size, while i prefer L size which unfortunately has quartz caliber.

The Francaise feels more robust and practical with bracelet. But then i looked at the WR rating : 30 meter. Very disappointed as they could've made them 100 mtr like santos, given the sporty look.
The Dumont is very pretty . Thin and dressy, 30 ntr WR is acceptable for this kind of watch. I like the "stretched" roman numerals...looks modern and sophisticated , more than usual romans. But i wonder should i spend 7K for a quartz..

6 months is acceptable...

Did you get a little bag with all the part they changed? 10 years ago, I got that from Longines: the old hands and some wheels! A nice touch to confirm that they actually did something.
For square, Cartier Santos 100 black for me!

Not even a detailed work and parts been replaced. I told them thay Omega always return the broken and worn out parts when i send my watch for service. Breguet is a part of Swatch Group don't they have same policy.
The AD said Breguet Singapore's policy is not allowed to return the parts.
Then I asked about the details of work and parts, and finally they got them from Breguet.
Assuming Breguet won't lie about the works and parts because they have to maintain the reputation, I would have to believe them, right? There is nothing I can do about it. I do wish I got the parts returned as a solid proof.

Well that’s not something I can reply,
it’s your decision, though there are worse things than spending 7k for a quartz Cartier as my wife did and spend triple the amount for a gold quartz Cartier . Although I have to give it to her, she is in love with her watch and very happy to be able to just put the watch on and go about her things without having to deal with winding the watch or setting the time.

I agree about the practicality of quartz. I myself had a Gold Tank Solo (quartz) back in 2010.
Whenever I want to wear it, just grab and go. This is good especially for dress watch which is not worn daily.
That is also why I'm eyeing the Santos Dumont size L , two tone with quartz.

I also have a 36mm Cartier Rond as a dress watch, back from when Cartier was offering the watch on a black alligator strap. It’s quartz and I must admit it’s easy to just strap and go. There is always a place for a Cartier in ones collection.
