Opinions on the 5036?
I've been watching the market of watches closely and one I've become fond of is the 5036. Initially I discovered the 5035, and then later really like the 5036 for the addition of the power reserve indicator and moonphase complication. I often see these watches on leather straps, and very rarely on bracelet - I found one recently for a good price on bracelet in White Gold. I hate to say it, but I kind of have an itch for a Yellow Gold time piece; however, for obvious reasons, yg is far far more eye catching.

In general, I'm curious for peoples opinions on a 5036. I am a buyer/seller type. I would probably own the watch for a couple years and sell later. Do patek buyers typically gravitate towards a particular precious metal when they are buying? Is yg to flashy for a patek buyer? Many will say "buy what makes you happy" - and yes, I agree with that, but I typically buy things of this caliber with the mindset of being able to sell it later with some liquidity in mind if needed. I'm just spitballing here and curious for everyone's take. Thanks all!

I prefer the 5146. It just does the things a little better. The Arabics balance the date out a little.
Definite improvement imho...
...still don't love the date, but at least they framed it. The subdials always looked too close to the center for me...

Generally, it's why I liked the 5396R-012 or 5396G-014 for the 'classic' annual calendar look, even though I was never convinced about the 24h hand. I would've preferred their white/blue aperture system for distinguishing day/night; it's more elegant.

Not a huge fane of the 5146 solely because I prefer the roman numerals on the 5035/36 - that said, that is the first 5146 I've seen that has maybe changed my mind. The black with yellow gold looks incredible!!

I think it's very elegant. And it's available, in theory, on the full bracelet:
I respect the horology, but dislike (1) the abbreviations of the days of the week - MO is not Monday et cetera - and (2) the omission of 6 of the months of the year. Neither is adequate.
I owned three 5035.
I bought all three new from authorized dealers. Sold them all because neither could keep time with any precision. I kept sending them for adjustment to no avail. Moreover, I don’t believe it’s worth to pay extra for a gold bracelet on that reference. By the way, I’m not the buy/sell type. I tend to keep all watches I buy.
Good feedback thank you, shame you gave it 3 tries and they all were a little wonky in the end. Not a good sign.
The 5035 killed my interest in PP. I still have three PP but no complications and a great watchmaker in NYC that makes them run decently.
In my case, PP service in NY and Geneva was pretty bad.
How about 5035j black dial?
Yellow gold without the bracelet is quieter depending on what look you are going for.
The black dial and gilt printing are a cool combo here.

I am not into coloured gold, but some prefer them.
I feel the manufacturers would made them more or less based on demands in the market - so there might be less (or more) for YG, but you'll likely have less (or more) competing alternatives should you need to sell it later.
