A while back I had the good fortune to acquire a 5968A. Before reaching the point of seeking it, I first had to be convinced that it
wouldn’t overwhelm my small (16.5 cm / 6 1/2 “) wrist. Having tried on the various variants of 5968, I felt confident, the size and weight at least in steel, would not be a problem. That has proven to be true. Though quite large, the size is aesthetically pleasing to me as it almost seems like a military watch. I also like that unlike a traditional chrono (eg the beautiful 5070), the chronograph hand can be run continuously as a center seconds hand without damaging the movement. Also, I particularly like the fly back function. I like its sporty nature and substantial heft. I also love the look. Nothing classic about it, it is thoroughly modern and fun. Usually, I lean towards classic, but there is just something I find very appealing aesthetically about this watch.
Thanks to all who encouraged to be daring and assured me that the size and fit would not be a problem. Bottom line, I am thrilled to own this watch.
Would love to hear back from owners of 5968A and/or G, sharing their impressions and images. And of course, from anyone else who cares to share their viewpoint on 5968.

love my 5968G. Really nice weight to it, dresses up and down. Sometimes I catch myself just staring at its beauty. Love yours too. Enjoy and wear in the best of health.

I do like a watch that makes a statement! The orange accents and strap work so well together .
I think your astute comment is exactly right. The watch, particularly with the orange strap does make a statement. That is a conundrum
for me. I generally prefer that the watch I wear not make a statement, at least to people who might have have bad intentions. On the other hand the orange strap seems so perfect for the watch. So I decided to go with what I perceive as the perfect combination.

Versatile. To time ones achievement or happy moments you need to have a chrono.

I find the 5968 very male, not unisex like the 5167. Requires a good mood to wear the 5968, I think. In the right mood, the 5968 looks great in any case (material).

Loved the look but too heavy given its large size for my wrist. Also in RG as compared to WG, it was a bit over the top for me. Best; Patekova

The orange hands and markers (on top of the black dial) match the strap perfectly, and this combination is super sporty with a great looking contrast ! The ability to have the chrono seconds hand continuously running is a big + IMO because the orange hand is so nice to stare at !
Great that you spent the time & efforts to ensure that this bigger piece fits your wrist & style. Such thinking and habit demonstrate that you are a collector with discerning taste.

Funny although I'm not sure where I fit in with that. Orange is definitely not one of my favorite colors.
That' said, totally understand your perspective which makes a whole lot of sense.
