I'd have to disagree, I remember this watch for the enamel and case first
But I have been hands on with like a dozen patek philippe repeaters so maybe I'm just desensitized

better than the R to me because G has the dial signed by AP and has a Swiss flag !
For the self proclaimed enamel addict/self on WPS, the enamel is
just as important as the MR !
When I saw one of these in person for the first time I quite impressed by the case as well as the enamel work

Funnily, I am planning to do a post dedicated to the variants of the 5531 someday (I've started gathering information and photos, but I lack time right now).
Having never seen any example in real life, it's hard for me to be sure of how I would feel in real life.
The only thing I can say is that I don't feel fully attracted to these lake views: they're not my favorite sceneries for an enamel dial. I find them a bit too "expected" (no offense to Johnathan Siu, his watch is a grail, of course).
There are also some variants with a view of New-York or a map of Singapore or Tokyo, which I find even less attractive.

I understand quattro's opinion. The design of the enamel dial is a matter of personal preference.
Two years ago, during the Tokyo Exhibition, AD told me I could order any model I wanted, and I initially considered ordering the 5531G (lake view), but the high price put me off, so I quickly gave up.
I was also interested in the G, which is my favorite material, and above all, I had a wonderful experience cruising Lake Lucerne during my trip to Switzerland.

Yes, it's just my personal preference,
there's nothing wrong with the lake views of course.
And, as you say, these Swiss lakes are wonderful in real life !

Hi Emmanuel, the New York skylight was a LE for the
Grand Exhibition in New York City in 2017 with enamel dials made by Anita Porchet and team. 5 pieces for day sceen and 5 pieces for night sceen.
Don't people who got high level approval for these MRs get banned later on for re-selling them?
Like in the case of Stallone....but...or I guess rules don't apply to these HNW people or they don't really care, lol....
Or maybe this is good marketing for the brand as they have been very proud to showcase their treasures held great value, are true treasures.
Honestly, I think this open market is healthy for many of us, who really just wants a grail piece and who can't get it thru "proper channels", can get it at auctions.
