Very very happy with the rose gold!  Congrats to you on your gorgeous black dial.

As far as the wrist comparison is concerned, I would say the 5170 sits flatter on the wrist whereas the 5270 is a bit more "top heavy" (for lack of a better word) and is noticeably heftier due to the additional complications. Furthermore, the lugs are different on the 5270 which may also be a factor. Lastly, the 5270's overall case size is larger. Overall, for me the 5170 is more comfortable on the wrist. Hope the attached screenshots illustrate my findings.

The case dimensions don't always tell the full story - as you indicated (especially with the Lange Dato family) and it's so nice to communicate with a person who owns all of the target watches for the human/ergo dynamic element. I had a short, nervous experience on 47th Street trying on both the 5170 and 5270 (both in rose/opaline) and ultimately went with the 5170R-001. In that frantic 5 minutes of comparison and louping, the initial appearance surprised me in that the 39.4mm diameter (5170) seems the same size as the 41mm diameter (5270). The case thickness was certainly pronounced but I wasn't able to actually put the 5270 on my wrist because it was plastic wrapped. I did note that the case shape of the 5170 was standard Calatrava while the case shape of the 5270 was sexy sculptured in comparison and so very attractive. That concave bezel architecture was special. And it looks great on you, congratulations! Best, Robert

The applied Brequet numerals are so lovely !

For example, my Daytona doesn't compete well with my Pateks and often my wife has to remind me to give the Rolex wrist time. After all it was my first and has the more compelling story since it was my first big decision.

So my 5980, along with my Submariners, probably get the most wrist time.
Also have a Daytona (116520, black dial) which I am wearing right now as we speak. It remains a special and coveted piece in the collection with an iconic dial (even though legibility isn't all that, but that's ok). Which Daytona do you own ?

Only thing I dislike about my Daytona is the button style clasp (I have one of the earlier versions of the 116520), the later ones are so much better.

The black dial in combination with the rose gold case and Breguet numerals is indeed striking, and I strongly prefer the square chrono pushers to the round ones on its successor.
