I would like to share a slightly scary story.
This beauty was delivered from double seal status at my former AD back in 2022 and was kept in the original traveler case since then. As I found it a bit too blinking for daily use.
In last week, I somehow took it out for a look and found it develop stain and discoloration throughout the entire surface!!!!
Immediately I brought it to Patek Service Centre in my city and the diagnosis was probably some surface reaction with alcohol/ perfume/ sweat. The stain just got slightly less after wiping with chemicals at service centre and a light polishing or buffing will be the only way to get rid of the discoloration completely.
Since the watch is actually brand new and not even put on my wrist before, I eventually decided not to proceed with polishing (the last thing I would do for all of my watches) and instead put it on my wrist, hopefully the normal daily usage will help.
Miraculously, after wearing it for a few days, letting this beauty breath (and most importantly give it a daily “soap bath”), the sheen gradually re-glows!
Lesson to learn, wear our watches regularly, particularly the high copper content rose gold one….and don’t leave the best part to the end😅

Have a wonderful weekend, my friends.
