I was offered a ref 3700 at an extraaordinary price of around 25kpounds. I knew nothing about the different dials and I still do not know if that watch was all original or had a service dial.
BuI met M Stanga and my education began
I learned all about the different dial available, I learnt that there were many watches out there with service dials . But I never came across another 370 until Iwas going to Paris . There is a stunning collector there called Teddy who seems to always have the best ref 3700.
I had arranged to meet him and possibly purchase one
But whilst we were in Paris , my father in law fell ill and we had to return urgently ( I was in Paris for less than 24 hours!). Still no nautilus
My search continued until one day my dealer here offered me a white dialled ref 5711 - For some reason it did not sing to me and I passed again
I then saw a ref 3800 for sale .Price was reasonable and condition was good. I bought it and wore if for a few years. The size was little on the small side but I have a small wrist - most of my collection is small vintage PP anyway.

Time passed and my dealer then offered me a watch I thought I would never buy, a ref 3710. This is a weird watch which for some reason has never taken off like its plain cousin the 3700. Maybe its the Roman numerals, maybe its the weird comet which shows the power reserve, maybe the dial itself , which is flat with no ribbed surface.
Anyhow I put it on and thought , this is something I can wear. Its different to everyones ref 5711 or ref 3700.
But there was a price difference and I could not buy it outright.
So I sold the ref 3800. , put in a few $$ and bought the 3710 , which is now part of the collection
get that not everyone likes this model but I find the size a bit better and I love the oddity of the dial esp the comet feature.
So here it is on the wrist the ref 3710
