Not a big fan of the aesthetic. Not to criticize. Amazing movement though.

Not a big fan of this dial design. I'm not criticizing the design. But this design and the Patek 6007 have never been great designs in my eyes... I've always said regarding the 6007, "if they took the Patek Philippe logo off the dial of the 6007, would people say it's a good looking watch?" A lot of us are influenced by the design simply because we think anything that comes from the venerable Maison must be good! We have a member here who has a couple Patek Philippe wallets, and he's convinced they're of unusually good quality. But they're standard corporate gift products not made by Patek Philippe, made by a contractor. Some people have inflated opinions when it comes from a brand they're fond of. And while I do have that a little bit too, I try to be more rational and less emotional.
The brand name and "aura" probably plays an important role, yes.

What I personally don't respond to at all is the carbon fibre motif. But I know others like it and like the automotive inspiration. It just doesn't resonate with me. Best, Emmanuel
I concur. Carbon Fiber is supposed to be about function not form.

But all these car companies have turned it into automotive jewelry - and the jewelry and watch companies have capitalized upon it. Not a great concept in my eyes. Ferrari puts carbon fiber interior trim all over the inside of the car and charges a fortune for it! I especially don't like it when they put it on the steering wheel which makes the steering wheel half carbon fiber and half leather. This changes the grip coefficient on the gloves and it's a small distraction when driving. Unfortunately, if you want engine-speed shift lights on your steering wheel (a helpful feature to have when driving aggressively) it's a pre-requisite to have the half carbon-fiber and half-leather steering wheel. I don't even like the half wood and half leather steering wheel on my Mercedes. Give me all leather please. Tesla did it right! They made it all leather. And now it's all vinyl.
Conceptually I like the idea of a stealthy complication.

But as often with modern PP execution is really lacking. They had to introduce a lot of refinements for it to make sense. Obviously not a stamped dial, a real embarrassment at this price point. Hands are basic and also simply stamped, more suited to a $500 watch from a micro brand. Case is historically inspired and I do find it interesting. All polished, a bit lazy although maybe appropriate for the entry level piece, certainly not here.
I am not going to comment on the movement finishing, I do hope the repeater sounds amazing.
