The 5131g because of its artistic value. Each hand made dial is so unique and beautiful because of being hand made. ( Too bad some of the lucky ******** out there have made a business and plenty of money off the 5131, while the real collector can only dream the endless of that ref. I hope HSWA is listening. ) The proudest Patek moment of 2009 is the acquisition of my 5970P on Christmas Eve. through my AD. Sorry for the bad photo of the wrist shoot, it was taken via the camera of my iPhone.

For me by far the most important 5970 but is it the best looking??????? M.

Many thanks to Miles on this forum.  It was his pictures of this watch that sent me over the edge.  He also assured me via PM that the 42mm case diameter was nothing to be afraid of.  This watch in the sunlight is truly sublime!

Sorry to spoil the thread, but this is the WORST watch I bought in 2009 (actually the worst watch I EVER bought)

 

In for service 3 times between April 2009 and December 2009, this is the perpetual sucker....

My favourite patek purchase for 2009.

This is the only watch that I bought in all of 2009, and my first Patek Philippe watch. I have long liked the 5059, but did not find its dimension to be ideal. The 5159G has all the attributes that I want - perpetual calendar, officer's case with hunter back, retrograde date, 38mm. Thank you all for the valuable knowledge I have gained in this forum, that helped me make this wonderful decision.

white gold and Platinum seem to be better appreciated than rose and gold....

One should never give up one's hope to get one )

There might be a danger of a speculation hype with this piece and PP should rightly be careful to whom to sell therefore.

Funny the critical comments about the engraving I read here repeatedly,does not bother me at all,and the font is very nice too in my eyes,but everyone his own taste...(I for my part dislike most of the greatly praised models models which I see posted constantly,so tastes are different)
