I can't speak from experience
as I do not own one. I was watching some watch reviews this morning an in one of
the reviews someone mentioned that for the price point they thought JLC
was just mediocre. Anyone here agree, or disagree? They thought the overall
attention to quality and finish had gone somewhat downhill.
I don't own one either but know one watchmaker who still thinks they make "the watchmaker's watch" and holds them in the highest regard. [nt]

Well I owned about 5 reversos, 2 master geographics, and 1 master compressor...
All of the timing of the watches were excellent.
Movement finishing seemed about up to par for what you pay for.
Only complaints people sometimes say is that you get a whizzing sound from the ceramic ball bearings when the auto rotor winds. But I can hear my VC Overseas make sounds when it winds.
Sometimes you get complaints about defective dials, not sure that is from 2nd owners and bad servicing.
All around I think it’s still a marque brand, and TOPS, for movement ingenuity. Just most people won’t know what you have on your wrist if that matters to you.
I always bought new so never issues with new ones for me.

Such a range....
From quartz stainless reversos to $1MM grand comps JLC has such a wide range I think it's hard to talk about the quality of the watches in a general sense. Obviously the time spent on that quartz watch isn't going to be the same as a gyrotourbillon. I think though that if you compare a JLC watch like for like with similar price point watches from other brands JLC quality/value is very good.

I'm not as intimate with JLC as Nico but I believe they make excellent products
