Last summer, I highlighted a Geo. Daniels at a Sotheby's auction that I promised my wife I would take a pass on. She said "If you find one with a lapis dial, you can go for it..."
Whaddya know, the very next watch was the 3237 with lapis lazuli (something I didn't know even existed) Sotheby's had estimated $10-20K, so I was definitely going to chase it ...
Well, as we know, it went for north of $120K, outside my range.
Later, I spotted this in an article. Either the lucky bidder, or there are more than one of them.
