This nugget actually dropped on AP's website over a month ago before it was officially announced.  It so happened I was enjoying a nice espresso with a fellow Purist at Lake Mullet when we stumbled across this new model together.  Details below.

As I don't know about this bulk glass and like the 39mm. Colored date wheel cool too. Dial a little too red for me.

ago already, but my latest experience with them made me so stupefying that I really turned from denial to contempt. Please forgive me my harsh words. I am not talking about their watches(except prices maybe), I am talking about their politics and their unendurable haughtiness and arrogance.
I am in a city where they drive a big AP House. I called them and asked them for the price of this piece. The answer was „sorry Sir, we are not allowed to give you this information on the phone“. I said „you are kidding, you want me to take the car, come to your BTQ and want me to ask the same question again?“
„Yes Sir, sorry“ „Now that is bizarre“ I said.
One week later I dropped in and did so.
A very self-confident young man needed 5 minutes to find the price. Very confident because working in this luxurious environment, but didn’t know the price of the latest release of their most iconic reference…
„Price is 83K CHF“…
I was speechless. The 16202ST is already over the top with 30K like all these Top brands. But 83??? Titan and some glass whatever?
Some of you may say Veeery rare, veeery special, veeery good value…
I don’t care. That’s simply ridiculous, but it shows very clear that they are convinced, that they can ask whatever they want, because there are many people with too much money and no connoisseurship.
When I said to the salesperson you can’t be serious, he began to turn away, thinking I was one of those who can not afford it anyway. 😉
Well, I would give this amount in a blink of an eye to some charity before I would give it to them. I’m done.

I have made a similar experience in my hometown AP boutique in germany. They clearly asked me to buy one or two other watches before I get the (not relally seldom) watch I wanted.
Collecting makes fun if you get „value for money“ and don’t feel fooled…

Is very interesting. I hope a member of this site gets to purchase it soon and post some pictures as I don’t find the ones online to be good enough.
Furthermore, the whole BMG is very curious and I wonder how it feels compared to the other metals.
I love the colour and while I do not mind the dial, I think it would be even better with some tapisserie.

I understand gold alloys can be used in BMG. Would be great to have a scratch resistant, gold watch. We’ll see how this develops for the luxury watch industry as a material option. Look of metal, scratch resistance of ceramic. I like it!

I am one for this piece. Burgundy dial and a BMG/Titanium material is a really incredible mix of modern materials, and the scratch resistance would be super divine. Looking forward to it!
