The F. Piguet 1150, also used in many Lemans and, as you imply, a bit slimmer and more delicate than you'd generally want for a divers watch. A movement that slim, especially with double barrels, is going to have pretty narrow tolerances. The larger thicker movement in the 45mm Fifty Fathoms and the Bathyscaphes was made with diver duty in mind, and this one wasn't.

But the smaller size is, for me, a way bigger point in favor of the 38!

This is not a movement made for a diver. You can’t indefinitely size the models down and keep pretending that they are the same watch in a smaller size. I stick happily with my 45mm FF and my 43mm Bathyscaphe Chrono. Even the 42mm seems wrong on my wrist, because I have been used to the default size since 2007 when the modern FF was launched.

The only problem is that when I try it on my skinny wrist, it seems undeniably not for me.

Now to find one to try on...

38mm is way too small for this watch.
Come on,this is a Fifty Fathoms and a serious dive watch.

That’s one of these watches that are and need to be big

On top of it, I’m not sure about the proportions. The bezel looks too thick on this version, compared to the larger models.
