Should I send it for servicing?
Hi guys,
I am seeking your opinions on servicing a Lange timepiece.
I have a 1815 (40mm, rose gold) with me since 2011 (bought brand new). This year will be its 7th year with me.
Winding is still silky smooth as before. I wear it 12hours daily (1.5 weeks per month), and when not wearing, I will place it dial down. So far, it has been running about +1 to +2 second per day.
The only obvious worn out area is the original brown strap from Lange.
My question is: should I send it for servicing by mid-2018 or should I just leave it till the accuracy becomes "unbearable", like +4 or +5 seconds per day.

COSC
standard is +- 6s per day. If I were you, I wouldn't bother to service it until it's exceeding the COSC standard. I'd simply replace the worn out strap. Cheers, Henry
After JLC lost my watch
I’ll never send another watch in for service unless it is completely broken! If it’s time for service I rather sell and buy a new watch than risk it again!! So no don’t service it!!!
The only conclusion I'd draw from the fact that your watch is off by 1-2 seconds a day after 7 years is that you bought a great watch...
In my opinion, if you want to make an unsolicited donation to ALS, then just send the money but keep enjoying that beauty on your wrist! Best wishes.
I am a preemptive person
So I would do it before it starts acting up and cause unnecessary wear to the parts. However, given the excellent performance of your watch I would give it another few years. Maybe send it in at the 10 year anniversary.
