My top six Lange are still the Datograph 1st generation, the Langematik Anniversary, the 1815 MP in platinum, the Lange One Pt Black dial, the Cabaret Pt black dial and the Richard Lange PLM Pt. None of the unveiled watches this year made me " WOW ". Mayb... 

I think they should bring back their more varied dial options. Black and blue dials were a real feature of early Lange.

Why not automatic, if the movement enjoys a three quarter rotor? Some will tell me that a three quarter rotor may not bring enough power reserve to the watch, I would answer that Patek, wih their Micro Rotor ( Cal 240 ) succeeded in reaching 60 hours. I d... 

the overlapping dials for the big date always struck me as a flawed approach for such an elegant watch, so i'm glad that's been addressed. i think the hour markers on the tourbillon look a little out of keeping with the overall aesthetic. there's an infor...

No doubt they're all beautiful and rarefied. Now, I always think the point of having an asymmetric hour dial is so that the time peeps out just under your left hand ('majority') cuff so that you can discreetly glance at the time. What do you think? I thin... 

Your Boss won't see you looking at the Time, and you will have no problem to read the Time on such a big watch. Did you try to have a quick look at the Time on an assymetric dial, which is, par nature, small? That is quite an impossible mission. But who, ...

Thank you very much for the insight into this technically interesting detail! My conclusion here would be: - the malteser cross is made redundant by the new, more powerful mainspring with better linearity (!) as well. - the second purpose of being a safet... 

The purpose of the Maltese cross was to "reduce" the power reserve in order that the watch always works with the best amplitude. So with the new Datograph, at the very end of the power reserve, it could have a less accurate behaviour. The power reserve in... 

Here is why I have to disagree with Nicolas. The perpetual calendar dial is perfectly understated. The time-indicating function is positioned conveniently for a discreet glance , without offending the person engaged in a conversation that has shot beyond ... 

And you are absolutely correct, this is a subjective matter, which may please to some, and not please to others. At the end, it will be to everybody to make his own opinion, from what he feels. As for the automatic movement, let's say that this big rotor ... 

I was reading your comments and it just came to mind that the new Cartier annual calendar also has the months on a perimeter ring. Interesting design there too. Doing so does make effective use of limited dial space I guess.

t does not quicken my pulse, nor do any of these offerings... BUT I appreciate the excellence, and would be proud to wear them. I PREFER VERY MUCH the new Dato for its improved overall balance of design, and baton markers. I guess I'll need to see the Sax...

Look at the offer from a certain Swiss Cousin, JLC: The Master Grande Tradition Perpetual Calendar Tourbillon... For less than half the price of the Lange offer, but not with the same degree of finish, I agree. I think the problem I have is to consider it... 

Always a quite sensible difference between touching even for a short time a watch and just admiring pics. I guess Lange has spread positive evolutions over many watches of the collection, for the best, even if not always spectacular (except maybe for the ...

What I was hoping for in a Daymatic moon phase was over exceeded by the Tourbillion perpetual novelty. Both smiling and crying as it will break the bank. I was hoping for an automatic Time Zone, maybe next year. Both of these models could be my first Lang...

Like everyone else on here I was keen to see the new datograph side by side with the old in real life which Nicolas has provided. Thank you Nicolas. I was convinced that the new datograph was nicer than the old when first announced but now Im not so sure!...

Yes. "The Classic Datograph has more character". This says it all. The new one is technically impeccable and aesthetically well balanced,. BUT it lacks the elements that make the original Datograph's strong personality. We are in agreement here. Une fois ...

I was tested for that at my annual check-up with the doctor and the results were negative! ;-)

After some in-the-flesh-time with the revised Datograph. Your sentiments do not surprise me. If not for the overwhelming success of the Datograph, I think we could better receive this new piece. Alas, you are right. The triangular order, the driving force... 

Those who lived several years with the first Dato on their wrist or in their dreams may well remain stuck with it, while new clients may well appreciate it. A bit like cars... Carburator or injection? When you tasted the pleasure of carburators for many y...

I love each of the new watches released this year, as much as i love the previous ones, and can see no reason to complain. Lange is still the finest brand in the world.
