I have the exact same problem
I wanted the Sax AC which I believe is the same size.
It is not so much that the watch is big, the lugs are too long IMO but that is how ALS is. One way around the lugs sticking out is to get a thicker strap or have a customised strap to the right length, it may do the trick.

I would second the suggestion of the little Lange (36mm) or the 35mm Saxonia. That said, the Saxonia thin at 37mm looks quite good too, but in my very limited experience the nagging little feeling that it might be too large is hard to dispel.

Like you I struggled but between the Saxonia and VC tradionalle. I went with VC at the end but the Saxonia remains on my target list. Anyway, they are both desirable but think Saxonia suitd you better.

a fellow purist with a small wrist! Both the Lange 1 and Saxonia thin are too large for you. My suggestion is that you opt for the 35mm Saxonia which should be a perfect for your wrist.
