This may be the only time i can recall where my opinion on a piece differs from yours (at least when i am mumbling to myself reading your posts
). I agree with you the essense of the RL Tourby PLM may not fit with the characteristics of the RL line (re: understatedness) however the originality of the dial in the context of Lange itself and the roots drawn back to one of the old pocketwatches made this one quite appealing to me upon its release.
After having handled it in Dresden this summer I felt that appeal be rekindled.. I might even classify this as a grail of mine alongside the original PLM.
I don't intend for any negative connotation to come from my words, just adding a counter to your point on a somewhat polarizing Lange; and a wonderful post from years past.
If I may ask, what Langes do you feel execute the hole properly in the dial? ie. Original PLM, Lange 1 Tourbillon, 1815 tourbillon etc? I have included a few just because
