Really Tough Call
Dato - The Original Lange chrono, Pt heft is something to (be)hold, Attractive Triangle layout of date and subdials
BUT roman numerals, black dial with silver subdials and white date background a bit distracting to me
1815 - Arabic Numerals and no date (arguably requirements of a chrono purist), no luminous hands,
But - subdials are too small in proportion, pulsometer and seconds track make it look very busy, cannot lay claim as distinctive Lange chrono like Dato
To be honest, still very torn...but if it was the Pisa vs 1815 WG, my choice would be the Pisa.

howdy, any thoughts or have any comprisons been done. other then big date, are there any other differences? same cal L951?

I went with the 1815 RG / Black
For me it was a little dressier, a little thinner and therefore more wearable, and I think the RG / Black combo looks fantastic. Cheaper too!

I don't own either of these, but
personally I prefer the Dato. It has a more pleasing dial layout, more proportional compared to the 1815. And the big date works perfectly with the overall layout balance. Andy

The Datograph was not a part of the original 1994 Lange re-introduction. It was first available in 1999. And many Lange executives believe it was the watch that shocked Patek and realigned the high-end pecking order. Terry O.
