Ironic that you should mention JLC, another favorite brand of mine. There are more than a few service horror stories floating around about that brand as well. And you'll invariably find someone in those threads saying "I've never had this sort of issue with AP". The sad fact is that all brands drop the ball from time to time and manage to alienate existing and future customers. Patek? I have a friend who bought his wife a quartz Patek (thaaaaat's right) and it was away in Switzerland for a YEAR for a battery change. And then the sales person dealing with it told him he "should have bought a real watch instead". Not kidding. I've read similar horror stories about Rolex. No brand seems to be immune to this sort of thing.
