What the....?
I really shocked and sorry for your experience,
I'm sorry I just wanted to ask, and pardon me if, perhaps, it sounds pretty rude...
That service center in SG, is it "Service Center" or "Authorized" Service Center?
Really what a quality of service!
I've just graduated from WOSTEP last year and ever since I've been working with newly-opened Swatch Group service center in Jakarta,
I've encountered those omega (in the meantime, we couldn't service locally brands that was "higher" than omega due to some political issues, just send to SG counterparts, unless it's a simple problem as changing batteries or diagnose) watches that was "serviced" in "authorized" service center before around the time pre-2016, pretty much most of them came in the same condition as yours or even worse... And I couldn't lie it gave me (us) a hard time to deal with...
I've been wondering about how could it get like this (on those watches) and worse, I think they didn't change the necessary part just because "eventhough it doesn't look as nice it's still working pretty fine".... While in the end, these kind of thing tends to be the source of the problems... And it seems that the owners doesn't mind either, even with a see through caseback...
And the saddest thing is if those parts couldn't be ordered anymore, I couldn't even think of why they didn't do it while they still got time....
These kind of attitudes has to change.
I got to tell my senior watchmaker the necessary things to be done, and press the manager of not thinking about the cost as we thinking about the customers and our names as well. Glad now they're understand and cooperative to do so, to do things that is necessary. While we're still young and still learning as well, may mistakes still happening as well, but we still do the watches in our best possible ways, while, yeah, clashing with the management about the cost (need back up opinion from my senior watchmaker).
And later I know that in that "authorized" service center, none of those watchmaker got certificate from omega themselves (or, you could say, certified) and yeah, experienced doesn't mean they're doing it in the "right" way, they could've been doing it wrong all the way. Sometimes things in life have to change.
And in your case, seems that it's not a new movement one but more like it was serviced and changed "those necessary parts". One way to tell is to get a loupe or a microscope, check out the rubies that was lubricated. Whether it's forming a nice ring around the pivot then you got a faulty movement, or if it was pretty dirty then your movement wasn't changed at all...
If it was ours, I'll ask for a new one then put it in your watch, while the faulty movement would be sent to Switzerland for a close inspection.
Best
