Honestly, I'm the same.
The cars were so rare that I never really saw one outside of Monterey Car Week or in London at the showroom. I see them actually more as art rather than a car (probably unfair of me to see it that way, Murray might not be pleased). So they didn't compute in my mind the same way as a car could. But listening to the man talk about his creation - and getting that understanding of the origin of why he does things the way he does - is a fun revelation and a glimpse into how he thinks and what he values.
Going back to analogies. Mate Rimac would probably be Rexhep Rexhepi? Luc Donkerwolke would be Vianney Halter? Marek Reichmann... Hmm, who would he be?
