Jaguar E Type 60th Anniversary. Good or bad?
Jaguar made 6 pairs of E Type Convertible and Coupé which cannot be sold separately, for more than half a million Euros.
The body is of course all new, the engine has been revisited ( 6 Cylinders 265 HP ) and a new 5 speeds manual gearbox.
And what an interior!!!
I regret that we don't have the choice between the coupé and the convertible, which would make it more... " affordable ".
I would also have loved to have the choice between 6, 8 or 12 Cylinders.
But I find them very desirable.
Personally, I would go for the convertible.

The convertible.
Usually I'm not a fan of convertibles, but with this Jaguar hit a homerun back in the days! The coupe is beautiful, but the convertible sensually beautiful!
Convertible but ....
With hard top!... best of both no? Anyway, I like the pairs, but as a purist, I like my classics as close to the original as possible, not a fan of new configurations. Restorations are already a departure as long as they stay faithful to original specs. M...

Neither. Can't afford it...
But I'd go for a coupe, since it'd be cheaper, and since I can make Amanico so happy that he can finally get his convertible. But sorry, Amanico, I don't think I can afford the coupe!
I'm pretty much always going to vote coupe.
Mercedes 300 SL; coupe with the Gullwing or convertible with the normal doors? Gullwing! Mercedes SLR; Coupe! Mercedes SLS; Coupe! As the convertible doesn't have the Gullwing doors! I'm not a huge fan of the wind in my hair and the noise of a convertible...
It would be the coupe for me.
I almost universally gravitate towards hardtops when there's an option. I'm one of those oddballs that actually like the BMW Z3 shoe, I mean coupe.
I'd take whichever could be delivered first
you just can't improve on the looks of the E-type , don't mind the six as long as it does not leak like my 1966 did . My buddy had the 2 coupe quite the car would top out at about 140mph which was good back in the early 70's that 12 cyl was silky smooth
