No spring chickens...

The engines are different beasts to B19/B20/B23 that`s for sure. Was close to getting a 740 Turbo when those arrived and had it for a couple of days, but with my youngster driving habits at the time I chose not to.

Very few Imprezas and Legacy/Outbacks left, and tincans they were. The Imprezas were run hard by many - credit WRC, the Outback remains my favourite driving experience for that car segment, and I don`t think they suffered the same degradation in roadhandling as the XC did. Then again, the V70AWD was new, and the XC had around 210.000 km on the clock and a long timespan between, thus I cannot really compare beyond in memory.

One thing if you go vintage: They have changed the 95 octane by increasing methanol content to 10% (E10), and it causes a lot of trouble for vintage cars, dissolving/cracking/hardening rubber compounds, membranes and o-rings, and causing corrosion to the fuel systems.
