Automotive

A conceptual choice :)

Doing the homework about where to find AC clubs would be a good thing, they would help you out if you get trouble with you car, and there are a few Volvo clubs around too wink  I have to say, the vintage AMcar road handling on winter roads up north is a significant concern. At least you would need sandbags/iron/lead to add som weight on the rear wheels. (Same could be said about a Hi-Lux).

In general, a trip like the one you are planning can be done with most cars at different levels of precaution, as you and the super deux chevaux project of Cazalea prove, it would be more interesting and fun if the car becomes the story. I knew of a guy using his Mach II Fastback Mustang as a all year only car, he just had to keep it parked in the worst weather conditions.

You will have a great experience/story with a Land Cruiser, but it will be a very different story than with a 2CV, a Saab 96 V4, a classic defender / US Army jeep or a 911. My first car was a 96 V4 (1968) by the way wink
