Albeit on the second engine as well. The 5 cylinder turbos were nice but maybe not as robust as Volvo engines of old.
As for your assessment - this fully mimics my experience. Getting a Legacy with the 2 liter turbo engine of the Impreza would be fantastic but these are rare as hens’ teeth. The 3 liter is only fun with the manual gearbox, the automatic sucking too much life from it. And the Imprezas of the era have all been driven to death or are at a price level I find unacceptable. But they are massive fun - tinny but all the driving controls and components are spot on 👌🏻👍🏻

In the modern equivalent (Mulitvan). It was a fun drive but it’s really not made for the cold - windows and doors freezing shut, windscreen wipers not working… 🤷🏻♂️
