IMHO funnily the 4 door g14 is more gorgeous than the g15 coupe

And they are gorgeous machines. If I were to be super critical - I would say the exteriors are beautiful and have aged well - BUT the interiors have not aged as well for some reason.

My cousin owned a 850i manual during the late 90ies, I still remember I was gobsmacked by the power it delivered. The 300 hp engine had been tweaked to around 330 and it easily reached 300 kph on the clock. One evening I was doing 170 kph with the Bimota,...

The car never left me stranded, no drivetrain work needed, just little things like headlight motors, window seals, a/c recharge, etc. Sometimes I think journalists at the time were just annoyed that it was like owning two BMWs, 2 batteries to replace, two... 

V12 is the way to go & remains on my grail list … Alpina and M versions were amazing

Sadly the M8 prototype never made it into production 🤷🏻‍♂️

Cruising at triple digits speeds was unlike anything else in the 850, the v12 was ever present but so smooth and would hum away on the freeway. Cabin ergonomics were some of the best in nay car I've every driven, the b-pillarless design plus a sunroof mad...  

Became my auto-x and track car since I figured at the time E28 5 series panels and parts would be easy to replace if I had an incident. Who knew those would become $100k cars I swapped in some race seats, harnesses, bigger brakes, straight pipes, this car...  

I know you mentioned leaning towards the V8 and it certainly has it's advantages and the numbers are close enough but I hope you are table to test drive both, there's something about the feel of the v12 that's worth experiencing too. The sound of the huge...
