A friend used to own a Healey 3000 MkIII. IIRC 3 litre straight six, and 150hp. This looks like a MkII which had 140hp, and no power steering. They have heavy clutches too. Driving in town was like doing a weights session in the gym.

It's a fantastic British sports car from a series called the 100-6 & 3000, with big heavy 6-cyl engine in front and low flexy body with exhaust that scrapes and doors that flew open on bumpy roads or aggressive turns. My 100-6 looked like this: I just...

I don't know about the doors flinging open, but heavy engine, flexible chassis, impractical overhangs and long tails scraping... Sounds very British, all passion, no practicality to me. I don't have any personal experience, but I'm told the British were e... 

....an Austin 3 Litre. I believe the same engine as the Healey 3000. Amazing torque!! They also shoe horned the engine into an MGB. Called it the MGC. Brute of a car!!. Best, John.

It's the only time I've ever seen one with the leopard-skin top and tonneau. I assume they were aftermarket, probably from J.C. Whitney if you're familiar with the company. They were notorious for bazaar aftermarket accessories. Emil
