Just in time...
Pun intended... This forum started just as my interest in Cartier watches are just starting to grow.
Lots of interesting developments are going on with Cartier. Cartier is definitely a company with the financial resources and human resources to become a leading sector in the watch industry (it is already one of the leaders in the watch industry). With the advantage of its historical brand name, its distributorship, and its unparalleled history in the jewelry industry, Cartier definitely has the potential to make some of the most incredible timepieces that will capture the hearts of all watch lovers.
I personally don't consider Cartier to be a true "watch-lover" brand. They only recently debuted their new Flying Tourbillon complicated watch. However, I didn't consider Montblanc to be a true "watch-lover" watch brand a few years ago, but now their Villeret line is making some of the finest watches commercially available (dare I say on par with Lange and Patek)!
Thus, it is prudent for me to welcome Cartier into the world of high horology. Hopefully in a few years, they will have a line like the Montblanc Villeret that will satisfy many true "watch-lovers."

Yes, SJX you are correct...

The older Pashas were generally ETA based while the 42 mm uses the 8000 MC is which is a Jaeger-LeCoultre based calibre. - SJX
