Cartier

Stunning collection!...

The Rotonde Jour et Nuit and the Santos Dumont Squelette are magnificent!  Definitely two of the best pieces from Cartier in recent years.

I could not agree with you more about the size of Cartier's watches.  While there is a good market for chunky sports watches and oversized watches, I personally would love to see more new watches from Cartier ranging in size from 38-42mm.  For me thats the ideal case size range.

While I am always excited to see what new pieces are going to be released at SIHH, in recent years it has been hard to get really excited about their watches.  While creative and techincal marvels, many of the newest pieces have been between 46 and 50mm.  Maybe it does require a giant case to make highly complicated pieces, but does anyone remember when it used to be an art form to fit complicated movements into normal sized watches?  Yes, I know its possible that some of the advancements in the latest HH pieces might eventually trickle down to their more mainstream collection...however knowing that a watch case is so insanely large that I could never wear it some how makes these watches less interesting to me.

I would love to see a greater emphasis in the release of watches that are 38-42mm.  Something new and creative that looks great with a nice suit and fits under a dress shirt would be a welcomed sight, rather than another "Look at my giant watch" time piece that looks silly when worn with anything other than jeans and a T shirt.

My one other request if anyone from Cartier is listening/reading...how about a nice pair of all pink gold cufflinks.  They make lots of great watches in pink gold and the only cufflinks they offer to go with them are the tri color knots (great links...but sometimes I want all pink gold links not tri color).

Best regards,

Dino
