I first encountered the Chopard L.U.C. when Walt Odets published his outstanding review on TimeZone about ten years ago (one of a series of incredibly detailed watch reviews he did). Then in 2002 or 2003, I acquired one of the first series of L.U.C. watch...
makes one pause and wonder how anyone into fine and classic watchmaking with a touch of present day aesthetics could have missed this. Basing said review from your superbly written perspective shows the answer. This most likely is not a watch that elicits...
I agree on all points with you. To be honest, for me too, this is the best looking Chopard LUC I've ever seen, hence, my absolute favourite. I'm even considering adding it in my collection, to say all. My bigger problem with Chopard watches is the dial, w...
IMO this watch deserves the extra attention and your in depth and first hand review is very much appreciated. I must give it another look as it wasn't compelling enough for me to pull the trigger the first time round and something else manage to get my at...
SJX, Thanks SJX for the detailed and personal review. As an old fan of the LUC watches with an original Ref 16/1860/1, I prefer the classic designs from Chopard and find the Tech series design (hehehe) .... a bit bland Vive la difference! There is somethi...
This is a great piece and probably the only LUC Tech to agree with my eye immediately. For anyone looking to start their appreciation of LUC, I think this watch at its price point makes it very hard to ignore.
As a fan of micro-rotored movements, I am quite a fan of the 1.96 and 9.96 Chopard movements. Thank you for the impressive macro photographs. I first scanned the photographs prior to reading the actual review and I too noticed the 12 on the dial to be sli...
SJX, thank you for your detailed review. I, too, got a Chopard LUC (Quattro 8-day, previous generation) recently and I have been impressed with its quality, and I agree that the brand deserves more serious review and appreciation Best, Ken
As well as the detailed photos. You echoed my very first thoughts upon seeing that first photo. I too instantly thought how similar the dial looked to a Simplicity.
A great review of a very elegant piece. It's one of the most beautiful creations by Chopard I've ever seen. If it were a couple of milimeters bigger, I'd probably consider picking one up.
...from the fact that WENT CRAZY ABOUT THEM from the first time I saw that beauties! I also know that your first LUC is GORGEOUS – think I’m in love with its "stiff and old fashioned" look
...about a brand that is less talked about. I am not so negative about their designs, i liked for example the LUC regulator which is quite bold in its design without going over board But then this is a matter of personal taste. thanks for your outstanding...
Not only have you made a most honest and valuable commentary on the evolution of the LUC watches made at Fleurier, but you have selected two watches which are my favorite picks. I believe this one, that you have..is a most honest, value for money, and wil...
For me this is also the most beautiful "Tech" watch in the LUC line. Very niced balanced. The critical review adds only more value to the qualities of this watch.
If that is so, then, Geneva Seal and PP Seal are equally the same. Isn't it painful for you to buy and keep a watch which is believe to be tainted with marketiing gimmick? Please do pay a visit to QF plant (if you haven't done so) and then tell us that yo...
I agree with you that it looks really good and interesting. I like it too The hour marker is not that obvious in person, you are more critical than me ;-) Cheers, CL
First, congratulations on attaining a beautiful timepiece. I think this is the best of the Qualite Fleurier line. The dial is so very attractive. It manages to be both elegant and youthful, edgy. Not an easy feat! The L.U.C. movement is beautifully finish...
