Team,
I was wondering if anyone here could help me out and maybe direct my reading. I have recently become interested in a brand some of your might know, D. Dornblüth and Sohn. I’m particularly interested in their Q-2010, which has two very interesting features, a ‘Maltese Cross spring’ that allegedly provides linear torque over the power reserve (I haven’t got to that yet) and a ‘short anchor escapement’. Does anyone have any idea what this is? Google has given me plenty of information about pendulum clock anchor escapements that seem to have little mechanical advantage. So I’m a bit confused as to what this might be that they’re using. I would assume they’ve decided to incorporate it for a very good reason, and I’m fascinated as to what that might be. My next line of enquiry was simply to contact the brand, however I think that they’re might be some clever individuals here that might be able to shed some light in the matter.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts and invite you all to have a look at this movement via the link below, it is a very beautiful thing anyway. Comments on the Maltese cross spring are also welcome!
