My new car was broken-in over the
weekend... but it doesn't sound as bad as the title says
Before we get to that, let's go back a few weeks when I stopped by a nearby Chevy dealer. They had plenty of new C6 Corvette's on the lot in various configurations and colors.

I'm a huge fan of the Corvette so had to add another to the small but growing collection. Here's my first Corvette, a fifth generation C5 Corvette Coupe in front of my new C6 Corvette in Torch Red. I call it 'write-me-a-ticket-Red' because it's really bright. I was a little worried at the beginning because I prefer dark colored cars, but I now love the bright red color. It's so beautiful!

Received some paperwork with my new car.
environmental performance....blah,
blah, blah,.... global warming score...
.more blah, blah, blah....smog score...
.blah, blah, blah....

But I did check the owners manual and it said that the
break in period was for the
first 500 miles. OK, well even
though this is a daily driver it took some time to get
there.... now at 504 miles I'm ready to see what my new baby can
do.

We had a long
but fun drive and everything was going well until we saw this trail of fluid on
the road:
Uh oh, what could have happened right when we're about to turn onto PCH?

Here's a sad sight, a bunch of antique cars running fine and driving by the 599:

Two generations of CL AMG's. Just like on my
Corvettes, you can see the changes in the front fascia and other styling cues
throughout the years. Both look stunning and their engines sounds
fantastic:
I think my little red Corvette did well on it's first
ride out. Now I've got think of a few more road trips, we'll have to
see where we go next weekend
Thanks to my
fellow PuristS for such a fun weekend drive. We've got to do this more
often.
