News flash: Jaeger Lecoultre Reverso Tribute Enamel Tiger 2022.

Jaeger Lecoultre just unveiled this Reverso Tribute Enamel Tiger, to celebrate the Chinese " Year of the Tiger ", this year, made to order, so not a limited edition.

The case is in rose gold, with classic dimensions ( 45, 5 x 27, 4 X 9, 73 mm ).

The main interest of this watch is the mix of black enamel dial, at the point that this watch would find its raison d'être with the recto dial only.

The contrast between the applied indices / hands and the deep black enamel dial is just awesome.

But Jaeger Lecoultre pushed the limits farther and decided to work the verso dial in a sublime way, blending the fine art of engraving and enameling:

The movement is, without surprise, the Cal 822, manual winding, offering a power reserve of 42 hours.

For those who pay some interesting to chinese zodiac signs, it will certainly be a watch to consider.

I for one would have loved to see a Recto only Reverso, with this black dial and gold applied indices.

The contrast is eye catching and very elegant.

But we cannot deny a certain admiration for these technical and artistic skills.

I love the metallic print railroad track and script. Better, to my eyes, than the white print on the previous gold tribute faces. Is it too much to hope for a recto-only version in stainless steel later this year?

Yes, it would be great in steel, but I don't think it will happen. But in platinum or white gold, why not. Or even better... In Tantalum. With a black enamel dial, it would be terrific!

Steel black would be great, even though it doesn't come with an enamel dial. THAT would be possible, I think.

Always a fan of rose gold paired with a black dial, it looks great on the Reverso especially. The tiger engraving is fantastic as well!

We can all agree: The black enamel and rose gold combination are timeless, beautiful and desirable whilst the Year of the Tiger verso engraving/enamel will have limited appeal. Where does this leave us? We must wonder about the goal of current maison lead...

They started to re work on the movements of the Master Line with a longer power reserve of 70 hours, and I think they will go on this way with other movements. Now, yes, I agree. More affordable and exciting watches!
