For me personally, I agree ..
I much prefer ONE complication being unfolded rather than stacking up several. (Or no complication) I have found out that many FPJ collectors have this trait in commen.
I can certainly relate to your preference for the larger “right side” dial. I have just reached the era of reading glasses, and honestly i have started to struggle with the smaller dials in poor lighting. (although the symmetry of the Resonance helps!?) The Optimum seems to be ideal to me.
However, to my eye, there always seemed something unfinished about the G.S. I think it has to do with the proportions of the negative space around the hammers and dial and that I find the font too large. The A.S. seems so much more “finished” in the dial design. The regulator style also helps a lot with the legibility, even if I am not a fan of regulator dials.
