Some like , some don’t

I don’t like it until I hold it. I saw it yesterday in the boutique. Prototype.
Yes it seems strange and not practical to have so many functions into one watch and some are not related to each other.
But my personal thought is , a brand need something to show off from years to years. I don’t believe people like VC or AP grand complication recently but they still need those product in the show. And the super complicated watch tells people how far FP can go and also the DNA concept of his designing.
I like it, no, I love this piece. It’s so amazing to look at a watch with so many complication not only wearable but also elegant on my tiny wrist.
The functions in this size itself says everything of the talent of FP. Also I believe a watch like this one, is not... only a watch. It’s something you would like to hold for your generations, like a treasure. Maybe some like his treasure box full of pure diamonds. But I like mine with diamonds, golds, arts, antiques.

Yet I appreciate and love this piece. Two personal thought of it’s issues I need to point out.

1. Price. CHF885k??? Is it the price for stop people buying because of the capacity? Maybe. If yes that makes sense. This show off piece can of be purchase by ..... I guess ..... 1 pcs per year? Or it occupies capacity too much. Also the service is very time consuming in the future.
I confess while I hold this timepiece I can not stop thinking and calculating what can I do and for how many years to buy this one. No kidding. At least for 5 mins calculating.


2. They should not put minute repeater on it.
Don’t get me wrong, I like it to have minute repeater. But I believe FP is not ready for qualified sound of minute repeater. The sound is small and weak, not crispy enough. I think FP need more work on the material and structure of it. So at this stage I think to take it out is a better idea. Once we get a better minute repeater we can upgrade it as another new product.
